Open-air Cinema
THE PLACE:
The Ellinis Open Air Cinema is a cool oasis in the center of Thessaloniki. It is located in a very characteristic part of our city under the OTE tower (on Stratou Avenue next to Vellidion Center) opposite the archaeological museum with very easy access from all over the city.
A blooming garden with the elements and the colors of a Greek Cycladic island, it makes an excellent proposal for a summer outing in Thessaloniki. With selected first-run films, it keeps you company under the stars.
A cool and magical place
The vibe you experience in our space is that of an island and not that of a big city, a shelter surrounded by plants, cool even on the warmest nights, a magical setting with the big screen under the stars and the illuminated OTE Tower.
The films are selected for first screening by both European and world cinema. Every Thursday there is two-for-one offer, also there is the possibility of free parking right next to Vellidion for tickets over 16 euros.
In case of rain large sheds are available.
There is also a fully stocked canteen with popcorn, nachos, our famous ELLINIS hot-dogs, over 20 different beers, cocktails, cocktails with movie names, 6 different kinds of granitas, 5 kinds of cold chocolate, milkshakes, smoothies, homemade lemonades, sour cherries juice, strawberry juice which you can enjoy.
In the last 6 years, a second cinema has been added, the ELLINIS 2, on the terrace of Vellidion with an amazing view of the whole city that operates until the end of August and is fully covered and has no problem in case of rain. First screening films are shown there as well.
